Clearer-looking skin through precisely selected light.
A non-invasive photofacial that uses broad-spectrum light to target selected pigment and vascular irregularities.
Lumecca is an intense pulsed light treatment offered by Vein Specialists Institute and About Face Medical Aesthetics in Palm Desert and La Quinta. It is often called an IPL photofacial.
Unlike a laser, which typically uses a more specific wavelength, IPL delivers a range of light wavelengths. Filters and treatment settings are selected according to the color and depth of the concern being treated.
Pigmented areas and visible blood vessels absorb selected light energy. This creates controlled heating within the target while the surrounding skin is protected as much as possible. Over time, treated discoloration may fade or clear as the skin responds.
Targets selected brown pigment
IPL may improve visible sun spots, age spots, freckles and certain areas of uneven pigmentation.
Addresses selected vascular concerns
Treatment may reduce the appearance of facial redness, broken capillaries and certain superficial vascular lesions.
Customized for safety
Skin tone, recent tanning, medications, medical history and the specific concern must be evaluated before treatment.
Melasma, recently tanned skin, active inflammation and certain pigment conditions may worsen with inappropriate light treatment. An in-person assessment is necessary before candidacy is confirmed.
One treatment platform. Multiple dimensions of discoloration.
Dr. Jesser and the team evaluate whether each concern is appropriate for IPL and customize the treatment area, filter, energy and session schedule.
Sun Damage
Improve visible photodamage and scattered brown discoloration caused by cumulative ultraviolet exposure.
Age Spots
