What is Botox?

Botox is a neurotoxin that smooths lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause them. If you have fine lines and wrinkles that make you look and feel older than you are, Botox is a quick and easy treatment that can give you great results with no downtime at all. 

What areas can Botox treat?

Botox treats areas including:

• Crow’s feet: lines around the outer eyes
• “11” lines: vertical pair of lines between the eyebrows
• Forehead: horizontal lines on the forehead

Botox treats dynamic lines and wrinkles, which are caused by muscle movements over many years. Botox doesn’t treat static wrinkles, which are caused by collagen loss over time. However, other injectables (dermal fillers) can do so. 

How long does Botox last?

Botox can last for as long as four months, but it’s varied based on your body’s own unique response to treatment.

Which products complement Botox?

Botox works well alongside dermal fillers. The fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), which can add volume in areas like your nasolabial folds (the lines from the edges of the nose down to your mouth corners), lips, midface, and hands.

Juvéderm® family

The Juvéderm family of hyaluronic acid fillers, including Juvéderm Voluma® XC, Juvéderm Volbella®, and others, restores volume in the lips, nasolabial folds, cheeks, and other areas. Juvéderm fillers can last 12-24 months, based on the formula. Each part of the face requires its own specific formula for optimal results.

Revance® RHA collection

The Revance collection includes products made of resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA). They’re designed to work with facial dynamics. The products are produced during a gentle new manufacturing process that more closely resembles natural hyaluronic acid production in the skin. The fillers treat facial lines, lips, and other parts of the face. It can last up to 15 months.

Revanesse® products

Revanesse products are a line of hyaluronic acid fillers that effectively treat lines and wrinkles in the face as well as the lips. They last about 6-12 months on average.

Many patients have Botox treatment for their eye and forehead areas and dermal filler treatment for the other parts of their face, providing a balanced, youthful, and natural appearance.
