CoolSculpting®

CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive procedure that gently and effectively reduces fat in targeted areas of your body, resulting in natural-looking fat reduction. CoolSculpting utilizes advanced cooling technology that targets and eliminates fat cells. Unlike traditional invasive surgical procedures, CoolSculpting uses no needles or incisions. There is no need for anesthesia or pain medications and there is little-to-no downtime; most patients are able to return to their normal activities the same day.

CoolSculpting, or cryolipolysis technology, has shown remarkable efficacy in early research and clinical trials and has been used in clinical practice with great success.

During the procedure, a non-invasive applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to target and eliminate fat cells in specific areas of your body. When fat cells are exposed to cooling during the CoolSculpting procedure, it triggers a process of natural removal, which gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer.

COOLSCULPTING COOLADVANTAGE®

Platinum Status

CoolAdvantage is the newest CoolSculpting applicator. It delivers CoolSculpting’s cooling technology at a lower temperature, reducing treatment time to 35 minutes, instead of the standard 60 minutes with CoolSculpting’s other applicators.

IS COOLADVANTAGE AS EFFECTIVE IF THE TREATMENT TIME IS SHORTER?

In a clinical study that compared the CoolAdvantage enhancements to the commercially available CoolCore™ applicator. CoolAdvantage demonstrated equivalent fat layer reduction measured by ultrasound and blinded photographic review. The new applicator cup shape led to a 45 percent increase in comfort during the treatment. Eighty-five percent of the study subjects preferred the CoolAdvantage treatment due to its decreased treatment time and increased comfort.

HOW DO I KNOW I NEED COOLSCULPTING?

If you can pinch the skin in the area you are interested in treating and are able to raise 1 to 2 inches of excess fat, then you will benefit from Coolsculpting. Coolsculpting is designed to remove isolated pockets of fat that persist, even with diet and exercise. Coolsculpting technology is used to sculpt the upper and lower abdomen, love handles, inner and outer thighs, back fat and arms.

HOW DOES COOLSCULPTING WORK?

CoolSculpting involves the use of a small or large (or both, depending on which areas are being treated) paddle-like applicator attached to a hose that provides the cold. Regardless of size, each device has 2 panels with 3,000 sensors per side. A gel pad to help protect your skin is placed over the area being treated, and then the CoolSculpting device is applied and powered up. Once on, the applicator securely pulls up the area being treated between the two panels where it remains for the duration of the treatment. After a few minutes, you’ll begin to feel intense cold. Don’t be surprised if the cold rush is accompanied by stinging, tingling, aching, or a cramping sensation. This is normal and will lessen (if not go away completely) as the area becomes numb. Our CoolSculpting expert will ensure you’re comfortable and help get you situated, and then leave you alone to relax as the procedure continues on its own.

When the treatment hour is up, the device is removed and the practitioner will massage the treated area for a moment or two to restore normal blood flow. Not surprisingly, this area will be tender and you may feel slight stinging or a sensation of cramping. You may also see a temporary whitening or reddening of the treated area, which may also feel stiff. Otherwise, you’re free to resume normal activity immediately after the treatment.

WHERE DOES THE FAT GO? ARE THE RESULTS PERMANENT?

Once the treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), your body processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good.

WHEN WILL I START SEEING RESULTS?

Patients may see results as early as 3 weeks, with the most dramatic results generally observed 1-3 months following treatment.
